Doers of the Word: Living Beyond Empty Hearing
his week we're diving deep into Romans 2:11-16, and I need you to hear this truth: God will judge you according to what you had the opportunity to know.
For 13 weeks we've been walking through Romans together, and I've seen real growth in many of you. But here's the uncomfortable truth - some are still just hearers of the Word, refusing to give God control and refusing to be doers of the Word.
My job isn't to change you. My job is to preach the Truth. What you do with it is between you and God. But make no mistake - you WILL answer for what you did with the Truth you heard.
Paul calls it "my gospel" because Jesus personally taught him for three years in the desert. The Jews had the written Law. The Gentiles had God's law written on their hearts. Today, YOU have direct access to the entire Bible. You have NO EXCUSE.
Here's what hit me this week: James 4:17 says "to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." You can't just hear the Word and agree with it. Faith without action isn't faith at all. Even demons believe and tremble.
Jesus said in John 14:12 that those who believe in Him will do the works He did and even greater works. So where is that in your life? Where is your fruit? Are you setting captives free? Are you healing those oppressed by the devil?
Stop living a double life. God will judge the secrets of men. The books will be opened. "I was tired, I was busy, I had to work" - none of these excuses will matter when you stand before God.
Be a doer of the Word, not a hearer only. Your eternal destiny depends on it.
