Faith Over Works: Understanding True Salvation

Jan 4, 2026    Pastor Josh Smith

Your faith doesn't have to be perfect—it just has to be placed in the Perfect One. This Sunday we unpacked Romans 4:1-8 and discovered that salvation has never been about the strength of YOUR faith, but about the sufficiency of HIS sacrifice.

Abraham wasn't saved by his works. David found forgiveness after devastating sin. The thief on the cross entered paradise without baptism. Why? Because salvation belongs to Jesus alone. Faith as small as a mustard seed is enough when it's rooted in Christ. You're not saved by how hard you work or how strong you believe—you're saved by WHO you believe in.

Here's the question that matters: Whose ambassador are you? Your life is representing someone—either the kingdom of darkness or the Kingdom of Light. Once reconciled to God through Jesus, you become His representative to a watching world. Let your changed life be the testimony that draws others to Him.
